DAY 26 - THE DANCE

Galatians 2:20
I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

2 Timothy 2:13

If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.

This morning I was admiring a darling picture of Briley FAITH.  She had a precious little pink outfit on with ballerina shoes!  She is so beautiful!  I called her twinkle toes and told her Granna is ready to dance!

But, there was something I noticed more this time than many other times before.  Her identification bracelet they keep around her tiny ankle.  It has always been there.  Just this time it made me stop in my thoughts and think…”What would my identity say?”  I begin seeking God in His Word and in prayer as to the blog post for day 26.  Does it have anything to do with this little ankle bracelet?  Is this God’s leading?

In my recliner, Bible opened, read, and closed.  Second cup of coffee sits waiting on a table next to me, steam of enjoyment lifts above the rim begging me to taste!  I reach for the "java juice" and notice a devotional I don’t get a chance to read every day, “Jesus Calling”.  But, each time I do read it, grace nuggets fall in my lap to carry and use throughout my day.  Today the nuggets fell, confirming God’s lead.

Tuesday, November 13, 2012 it reads:

I am Christ in you, the hope of glory.  The One who walks beside you, holding you by your hand, is the same One who lives within you.  This is a deep, unfathomable mystery.  You and I are intertwined in an intimacy involving every fiber of your being.  The Light of My Presence shines within you, as well as upon you.  I am in you, and you are in Me; therefore, nothing in heaven or on earth can separate you from Me!

Immediately I thought, Christ IS in Briley!  His blood IS flowing through her!  His strength IS there for her muscles!  HE IS THERE!  Nothing can separate them!!!  Intertwined dance!

THEN…remembering her ankle bracelet, I study my identity.  Who am I?  What’s in my wallet?  What identifies me?  Do my actions reflect the "dance of grace"?

Is my driver’s license my identity?  Name,- Kathy; address-USA; date of birth-lips are sealed;  organ donor-yes.  Is my bank account my identity?  Let’s hope not!  Hmmm…receipts in the wallet.  Well, I guess they could be part of my identity; the places I go.  What else... photographs of family smiling between the business cards.  As I look at them, I am thankful they are for real and not the picture of the family that comes with the wallet!  I really do know them and they know me!  I love them and they love me!

Okay, that pretty much describes the physical identity.   The identity that means nothing in eternity.  When the Lord returns a flash of our driver’s license will not get us in the “door”.   So, what’s in your wallet?  Your I.D., money, even American Express, does not give the identity needed.  You see, we have to have an escort.  His name is Jesus Christ;  dance partner for life.

What about while I’m here, earth's dance floor?  You know, we are a lot like Briley FAITH.  What we have physically does not identify who we are or CAN BE in Christ!  What God can do through all of us in life's dance recital!  It is not just for us to participate but to encourage others they can, too! Yes!  That’s it!  My identity does not lie within who I think I am but who God made me to be!  Who God made you to be!  Who God made Briley FAITH to be!

It's time to dance!  Follow His lead!  Rest in His arms!  Reflect His grace!

God formed Briley FAITH, our precious ballerina to dance this earth with her story.  One gentle step after another.  Gracefully spreading hope to others.  Putting smiles on those who watch her dance in the arms of Jesus.

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for grace!  Thank You for Your pages of passion.  Your atlas of direction.  Your honey to the soul.  Your manual to life, the Bible.  Teach us to dance!  Teach us to receive and deliver!  Teach us to work with each other.  To want more of You!  To identify with You!

Oh how I want to dance like Briley Faith!  Spreading Your Word, Your truth, Your hope, Your joy for others to see.  I might be clumsy at times, but, I know You are the best partner anyone could ever have.  I might get off beat, off Your path.  But, You are always there with open arms to lead again.

I know You live within and can’t deny Yourself!  That means, Your blood is Briley’s blood!  Your strength is Briley’s strength!  Your breaths are Briley’s breaths!  I praise You for showing me she has it made!  You have always been Briley’s identity!  Briley’s deliverer!  Briley’s dance partner!

We will live by the beat of Your will.  We will glide gracefully Your way.  We are ready to dance!

In Your Holy name, through the blood of Jesus, I come.  AMEN!
